Downey Glass Industries has designed the manufacturing facility to process oversize glass panels for all your architectural needs. It starts with our jumbo glass fully automated cutting system that can cut glass sheets measuring 130" x 204". This cutting system designed by the Italians was the first and largest cutting system installed in the U.S. in 2006. We now have two independent cutting systems complete with automated storage and shuttle systems that feed the glass to the cutting tables. All of our edging and drilling equipment are designed and built by Italians who are leaders in the industry for this equipment. The equipment was designed to handle the tremendous size and weight of the glass. We have multiply overhead crane systems to process the glass throughout the facility. The final process of processing the oversize glass is tempering. The tempering system can temper up to 84" x 165". Most tempering system have a limit of 144" in length.
