 Downey Glass Industries has a state of the art custom tempering facility designed and built by Mappi in Italy. This tempering system was designed to our specifications requirements of high quality tempering along with volume capabilities. Mappi Tempering Systems has patented technology which has set itself apart from the rest of the tempering systems around the world. Our tempering oven can temper glass up to 84" x 165". The oven can temper 1/8", 3/16", 1/4", 3/8", 1/2" & 3/4". In addition to tempering clear, tint & pattern glass we have the capability of tempering starphire glass. Downey Glass Industries has been certified by The Safety Glazing Certification Council also referred to as SGCC. We are compound certified which includes both ANSI & CPSC certifications. Each certification has unique certifications and are as follows: ANSI or the American National Standard for Safety Glazing Materials used in buildings. CPSC or Consumer Products Safety Commission Safety Standard for Architectural Glazings Materials.

Downey Glass Industries has a wide selection of horizontal & vertical drilling equipment from Italy & Austria. This equipment gives us the capability of providing custom and production drilling solutions. We have the following selection of high quality diamond drill bits manufactured in Italy: 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 5/8", 3/4", 7/8", 1", 1 1/8", 1 3/8", 1 1/2", 1 3/4", 1 3/8", 2", 2 1/4", 2 1/2", 3", 3 1/2", 4 1/2" & 5 1/4".  

Downey Glass Industries has a wide selection of shape and buffing equipment designed and built in Spain. From standard diameters to shape and curves is possible of producing with any of this equipment. The only limitation is an inside 3" radius. Multiply edge finishes are also available from the standard polish & bevel to waterfall, eogee, ogee and pencil edge. The final process of the shaping is our buffing equipment which provides a high luster finish on the beveled edges.
